The Evolution of Excellence in Home Photography

At Bosley Real Estate, we pride ourselves on being a family owned and operated company. In the truest sense, the fourth generation of the Bosley family is at the helm but we also consider our employees and vendors extensions of our family. While each of our team members is in charge of his or her own set of responsibilities, we also make it a priority to help people grow and shine on their own! No truer example of that is our very own Orlando Mac, who works both on Bosley’s marketing team and as the owner of his own company,  Elite Photography.

Nowadays, it is commonplace to see high-resolution images, virtual tours and drone videos for real estate listings. Given that images are typically the first impression potentialHome Buyersget of a home, they are of the utmost importance. You only have one chance to make a first impression! However, prior to Orlando taking charge of much of our photography, some photos were not showcasing our homes to the best of their ability.

As a photographer, Orlando recognized this void and offered to bring in his equipment to do a test session. BosleyRealtors recognize the value of great photography for their listings and welcomed this opportunity with open arms. Years later and Orlando has photographed about 30% of the company’s listings. It has been said that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and we work to bring that philosophy to life. We are always open to suggestions and opportunities from our team members and vendors to better both the offering for our clientele and for the brokerage as a whole.

Involving the Team

Having been a manager for most of his life, Orlando has always had a knack for problem-solving. Providing better imagery was only half of it. There was also a need to make this part of the company more efficient and effective. Crediting Bosley as instrumental in helping to hone his talents, he had the opportunity to start training others. Starting from scratch, Orlando was able to train others on exactly how things should be done. His biggest takeaway in all of this was the amount of support that was always made available to him.

Elite Photography

Orlando’s photography company, Elite Photography, works with many of our Realtors. They rely on Orlando and his team as much as he does them. It is the Realtors who are responsible for providing checklists and helping with the preparation that ultimately brings the vision to life. In return, he holds each of his own team members to the same high standards. Our agents know what to expect no matter which of Orlando's photographers they are working with.

Success Stories

A big part of what draws-in a buyer is feeling connected to a particular home, which is why Orlando prefers not to take just general room pictures. Agents sometimes think that since they are not selling the furniture, detailed shots can be omitted from the shoot. On the contrary, simply taking pictures of each room can make them feel large and impersonal whereas providing detailed images help deepen the connection a person may have with the home.

In one particular case, Orlando was tasked with photographing a property that was essentially a teardown. While the agents did a fabulous job of cleaning out the home, Orlando still had his work cut out for him. Even a teardown with good lighting can encourage people to check out the property with a better understanding of its value. As a surprise to many, the house sold for $300,000 over asking. Strategizing with the agents to showcase the potential of the home went a long way.

When Orlando accepted his job at Bosley Real Estate he never anticipated it would lead to starting his own business. On the flip side, neither could we have predicted his added value to the strength of our real estate listings. By working together, we are able to provide individual team members and our company with limitless room for growth. We are always excited about potential opportunities the Bosley Real Estate family might bring to the table.
